The provision of services related to hospitality in a rural setting allows to understand the rural characteristics in a manner not only focused on primary food production. Thus, common practices to peasant life, as cultural events, crafts, living with the locals and the landscape itself, are seen to be important components of rural tourism product and thus valued for it. Rural Tourism in Calçada do Souto Farm Quinta Calçada do Souto is a farmhouse located in the demarcated region of Vinho Verde (green wine). It has 12 acres of vines for green wine production, and a pinewood and a brook. In this property you can take long walks through the vineyard, where you can observe and participate in activities related to the production of wine, and enjoy the pine forest or go fishing in the brook, or spend a relaxing afternoon by the pool with a panoramic valley and vineyard view. The houses, all in granite, built in the XIX. century, have been fully restored and welcome with the utmost comfort, visitors wishing to relax and discover the charms of rural life. Its decor is contemporary, combining however the ancient and modern styles. Located near monuments acknowledged in Portugal, such as the Obras do Fidalgo and the Ruins of Tongobriga, it is the ideal place to spend a quiet and interesting holiday. |
